Eczema is known to be one of the most common illnesses in America wherein it affects 15 million people. This skin condition is uncomfortable, but there are some things you can do if you are one of those who suffer from it. Here are tips to prevent eczema:

Keep out of stress

If you are encountering much stress lately, then you might probably been problematic about the flare-ups you have been having, too. Stress triggers your eczema because your skin is one of the parts of your body that receives much stress when you are feeling stress.

Wear comfortable clothes

One of the tips to prevent eczema is to wear comfortable and light clothes, and avoid wearing wool and body-hugging clothes. Prevent from wearing synthetic clothes because they will just aggravate your skin condition and may even cause a flare-up.

Avoid home allergens

Remember that breakouts often is a cause of allergens in your home, so in order to avoid them, you have to clean your house very often to eliminate their spread in the air and in the things you have at home such as chairs, tables, pillows, and others. Use a vacuum but never a broom because the latter will just cause the allergens to float in the air.

Buy a home humidifier

Remember that dry air triggers your condition, so it will help if you buy a home humidifier especially for the winter. Keep your home air moist by using a good humidifier.

Prevent from using harsh soaps

Stay away from soaps with harsh ingredients because they can trigger skin reactions. You also need to avoid body wash that has soap on it; instead invest in organic shampoos and facial wash. For your clothes, choose to buy ones that contain natural ingredients as they do not cause allergies.

Moisturize your skin

People are more prone to getting eczema if they have dry skin, so in this case, it will help you if you are going to moisturize your skin using creams, lotions, and moisturizers. Applying any of these avoid skin dryness which is one of the main causes of eczema.

Make a diet journal

You might have noticed your allergic reactions when you eat some foods. In order to keep out of it, one of the tips to prevent eczema is to keep a diet journal where you can list down the foods you take in and your body’s reaction after eating them. Find out which of them cause your flare-ups to happen, and try to avoid them always.

To have eczema is an annoying condition that you are also embarrassing but there are tips to prevent eczema that you can follow to free yourself from this skin condition. It will keep on coming back, however, if you will repeat the things that that causes it.

Keep yourself out of eczema to live the way you want it because you never have to be a slave of this condition for the rest of your life. Follow these tips to prevent it from coming back.
