Mole on the Skin (nevus) - Picture, Control and Removal of Mole

A mole or a nevus is synonymous with a birthmark. It is a discoloration of a circumscribed area of the skin due to extra pigment deposition. A mole is darker in color and is solid. In comparison, a wart is a softer structure which is translucent and marked with veins.

Symptoms of mole

Warts and nevi are blemishes and mar the face. Besides the cosmetic aspect, planter warts, being painful, do not permit the sufferer to walk properly, the weight-bearing areas are painful and cannot take any pressure, resulting in uneven weight distribution to other areas of the feet which are not supposed to transmit the body weight. The result is obvious.

The gait of a person becomes faulty and his feet arches are strained. This further leads to mal-alignments of the joints and eventually may become one of the causes of arthritis.

Mole Removal - How to get rid of mole?

The treatment of a projecting mole is simple by using a process called a biopsy of shaving. After numbing the skin with the local anaesthetic the doctor removes the part of projection of the mole with a scalpel or by electrosurgery (for example method of Surgitron). The wound cures to leave a white mark punt, but sometimes the same ones of the remainders of color as the original mole.

The biopsy of excision is necessary if the mole is punt or the melanomist is suspecté. The full thickness of the skin is removed and the wound is sutured (piqué). The specimen should always be sent to the laboratory for the pathological examination (histology). The resulting scar can be right a thin line, but is sometimes apparent than the mole was.
