Shaving Razors


Razor is most important bladed object used for shaving or hair removal. Shaving razor is used to remove unnecessary hair and it is used by both male and female for shaving hair. Shaving razor may sometime give razor bumps, razor burn, redness or irritation if not used in proper way.

History of Shaving Razors

  • Early razors-It is made up of bronze or obsidian and was used in Bronze Age.
  • Safety razor-Jean Jacques Perret was invented first safety razor.
  • Gillette Razors-King Gillette was person who evolved idea for Gillette razors. In 1903 William Nickerson had succeeded. U.S. Government gave Gillette razors to the entire army during First World War.
  • Schick Razors-Colonel Jacob Schick was person who originated first electric razor in 1928.
  • Close Shaver and Sunbeam Shavemaster was launched in 1937.
  • Battery depend electric razors-Cordless, rechargeable electric razor was introduced by Remington in 1960.

Types of Shaving Razor

  • Straight razors-It also known as cut-throats razors. In this type of razor blade is sharpened at one side and it is made up of stainless steel or high carbon steel.
  • Disposable blade straight razors-It is consisting of standard double edged blade. It is similar to straight razors in look and utility.
  • Safety razors-Safety razors was first discovered by Jean-Jacques Perretin 18th century. Safety razor with disposable blades was invented by King Camp Gillette.
  • Electric razors-The electric razor generally contain rechargeable batteries and rotating or swing blade. It doesn't require shaving cream, gel, soap or water.
  • Battery powered electric razors-It contains rechargeable batteries and inside the razor's container.
  • Other razor-Includes double-edged razors, single edge, cartridge razors and injector razors which all are safety razors.

Tips for using Razor Shaving

  1. Clean the razor properly after shave. Use water for cleaning and after cleaning dries it.
  2. Put it in a dry place or sufficient air places.
  3. If razor becomes blunt then sharp the blade properly for further use.
  4. Don't use broken razor to prevent further injuries.

Both muscle size and strength can be significantly increased by carrying out regular exercise that involves pushing against resistance or lifting weights.

Beauty Tip

Washing the skin twice daily with warm water and a mild cleanser may help clear up acne and prevent further outbreaks.
