Women's Health Care tips - Best Articles and Information on Women's Health

In the UK, women, on average, live about 5 years longer than men. Part of this is due to the fact that there are some routine screening programmes available to women, whereas, as yet, no population screening programmes are aimed at men.

Also, women come into contact with the health service much more frequently than men. They attend for contraception, are seen regularly in pregnancy and have dealings with midwifes, health visitors and GPs when they have young children. There is ample opportunity to discuss health issues and worries.

There is no doubt that good health is more likely to maintain if your lifestyle encompasses a well balanced diet, regular exercise, alcohol intake within the recommended limits and abstinence from smoking. Heart disease is the top cause for death for women, so addressing risk factors such as obesity and smoking should be a priority for all women.
