Hairstyling

Hairstyling can enhance your looks – but, to ensure do more good than harm, you need to know how to make them work for you.

Hairstyling products

Use ingredients specially designed to strip through the hairstyling products’ build up on the hair. Good if you like using sprays, gels or waxes.

If you were using moisture-filled styling products before your relaxing treatment, keep on using them. In fact, you may even want to step the conditioning up a notch and seek out products designed solely for chemically treated hair. Don’t go overboard though. Use too much conditioning oil, pomade or styling wax and your hair will more frequent shampoos. Styling products to avoid? Go easy on dehydrating products such as sculpting lotion, gel or alcohol based hairsprays.

Styling for curly hair

For curly hair, apply an anti-frizz styling cream or serum to the hair while it’s still wt and leave it to dry naturally or at least use a dryer with a diffuser and only moderate heat.

Styling waters

These are spritzed onto the hair to create hold while you are styling.

Hairstyling tips

When styling hair for a night out, make sure you use products designed to protect relaxed hair. To further safeguard your hair’s health, limit the amount of heat styling you do.
