Tips of using the hair dryer
- Never use very high temperature setting. If you do so, use it for a short period of time.
- Do not go overboard on styling wands that come with hair dryers.
- Allow your hair to dry naturally for a few minutes. Rinse out water with a towel before starting the hair dryer.
Using leave-in hair conditioners will protect the hair by forming a protective coat against heat damage.
- Blow drying your hair from underneath adds volume to the hair.
- Do not use a brush with wet hair and hot blow dryer - it's a sure-fire recipe to damage your hair.
- Never hold the hair dryer too close to the scalp lest it burn your skin.
- Always use the filter when using the hair dryer.
- Always point the hair dryer nozzle to the hair shaft to smooth the cuticle and thereby encourage shine.

Pollution has greatly thinned the ozone layer – the part of the stratosphere that helps absorb ultraviolet light – so the sunlight you are exposed to today is more intense it was 20 years ago.
