Karvonen Formula - Calculate Heart Rate by Karvonen Formula
Exercise intensity with the Karvonen Formula
This method was devised by Karvonen and the formula is as follows:
- Max Heart rate = 220- Age
- Functional HR= Max HR - Resting HR
- Functional HR x 60% + Resting HR = Lower limit of Zone
- Functional HR x 80% + Resting HR = Upper limit of Zone.
The Karvonen is method takes into consideration the resting heart rate as well as the age and is considered more safe and accurate.

Fitness Tip |
Take a quick watch around the neighborhood before breakfast or after dinner. Even small increments of daily activity can burn body fat. Walking not only tones your hips, legs and lower back muscles, but also keeps you energized throughout the day.

Beauty Tip |
Washing the skin twice daily with warm water and a mild cleanser may help clear up acne and prevent further outbreaks.
