Candidiasis - Picture, Causes, Symptoms and Treatment of Candidiasis

Other name - Thrush

What is the cause of Candidiasis

This is the feminine version of jock itch, a vaginal infection caused by fungus candida albicans or trichomonas vaginali.

Apart from persistent itching in the area women may also see some foul smelling discharge and experience a burning sensation while passing urine.

It's most common during pregnancy. Vaginal thrush could also be an early sign of diabetes, and in fact diabetics are particularly prone to the condition.

Men can also get genital Candida infection, which is seen as inflammation on the tip of the penis.

Solution and Treatment of Candidiasis

Candidiasis is usually treated with anti-fungal in the form of pessaries and creams. Partners need to be treated simultaneously to avoid repeated re-infection.

How to prevent the Candidiasis

Take a bath or shower twice a day, and change your underwear each time. Only wear underpants with cotton lining. Avoid tight pants and jeans.

After urinating, wipe yourself from front to back. Never use douches or vaginal deodorants

Fitness Tip

Osteopathy uses massage and stretching techniques to reduce muscle tension and improve blood supply to the tissues to restore the full range of movement to the joint. Neck pain and whiplash injuries can be treated by having the neck vertebrae realigned.

Beauty Tip

If you chew and swallow your hair hairballs can develop in your stomach in several years. The strands become matted and trap undigested bits of food. They host colonies of bacteria. Surgery is the only way to remove them.
