Trichomycosis Axillaris - Causes, Picture, Symptoms and Treatment of Trichomycosis Axillaris

Trichomycosis Axillaris is a very common condition in the tropics and subtropics, and is caused by Nocardia tenuis or Corynebacterium. Since it is asymptomatic, very few persons consult a physician.

Causes of Trichomycosis Axillaris

It is caused by the overgrowth of the corynebactery (most of the time tenuis of corynebactery) and basically concretions are composed of the narrowly packed bacteria. They prefer moist sectors of the body affect thus mainly hair of underarm, and with a less degree, pubic hair (pubis of trichomycosis).

Who get axillaris of Trichomycosis?

The axillaris of Trichomycosis occurs in the males and the females of all the races of the moderate and tropical climates. It seems to be more common at the men than women but it is because many women shave their hair of underarm.

Symptoms of Trichomycosis Axillaris

Trichomycosis Axillaris involves the axillary and pubic hair. The infection is seen as yellowish or grayish (rarely reddish) nodules along the hair distributed in a discrete manner, or as a continuous sheath which is firmly adherent to the hair. The hair is brittle and without luster. The skin is never involved.

Treatment of Trichomycosis Axillaris

Treatment consists in shaving the hair, followed by the use of mild antiseptics on the same lines as in pityriasis versicolor.

Fitness Tip

Up to a certain level, caffeine can make you feel more alert and wide awake. Excessive amounts can increase restlessness, nervousness, trembling, irritability and cause diarrhea or even heart palpitations.

Beauty Tip

When you dry your hair with a towel, gently pat it dry rather than rub it vigorously. This will help prevent split ends.
