Tinea Imbricata infrequently seen fungal infection is caused by T. Concentricum. In India, its incidence is comparatively more in Nagaland and the adjacent Eastern States. Symptoms of Tinea ImbricataTinea Imbricata is characterized by intensely itchy concentric rings of scales which affect extensive areas of the body. Hairy regions are mostly spared. The infection is not contracted by children below six years. Tinea Imbricata should be distinguished from ichthyosis and at times erythroderma. Diagnosis of Tinea ImbricataDiagnosis is confirmed by demonstration of fungus. Treatment of Tinea ImbricataTreatment of Tinea Imbricata is the same as for other varieties but recurrences are more frequent in tinea imbricata.
